Several national organizations - federal agencies, business groups, professional societies - with an interest in the improvement of mathematics, science, and technology education conduct their work though networks of affiliate organizations at a regional, state, or city level. Two national groups in mathematics and science education consist entirely of state department of education specialists in those fields. Through its work with the national organizations, NASSMC has gained access to their state-level networks.
NASSMC not only provides contact information about these groups to coalition leaders and encourages coalition-initiated interaction, but also it includes representatives of these groups in meetings that it holds within the states.
