The NASSMC Board of Directors will meet on March 17, 2004. All proceedings of the Coalition Directors Meeting will take place on March 18-19, 2004 at:

There is no need to to make separate hotel reservations at MITAGS -- your registration to the NASSMC conference will also guarantee lodging at the Conference Center.

MITAGS is located just a few miles from Baltimore-Washington International Airport BWI and Amtrak.

Draft Agenda

The theme for NASSMC's 2004 meeting is Resource Development: Charting a Course for Sustainability. The conference will include major announcements regarding new funding opportunities and enhanced technical assistance resources now available from NASSMC to state coalitions. Already scheduled is Peg Steffan of NASA Headquarters who will outline NASSMC's involvement with the NASA Explorer Schools Program.

Registration and Fees

To register for this conference, please complete the entire registration form and submit it to NASSMC with the appropriate payment. Submit one form for each conference attendee. The final deadline for registration to the NASSMC conference is March 4, 2004.

$150.00 for registrations received before February 20, 2004
$175.00 for registrations received after February 20, 2004

Member Coalitions Benefit! NASSMC will provide airfare (up to $600) and accommodations at MITAGS for one conference attendee per member coalition. Note that "member coalition" refers to coalitions whose $200 membership dues are current through 2003. Coalition Directors may pay NASSMC membership dues along with conference registration. To find out your coalitions' membership status, please send an email message to NASSMC.

Confirmation: A confirmation letter is your indication that your registration is complete. You should receive a confirmation by fax or email 5-10 business days after your payment has been received. If not, call 703-516-5970.

Cancellations and Substitutions: All cancellations must be received in writing by fax or email by March 1, 2004 for a full refund. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made after that date. All refunds will be issued after March 22, 2004. Substitutions may be made at anytime. Persons not canceling and not attending the conference will be responsible for payment of the registration fee.

ESTME Week

Make the most of your NASSMC travel eligibility by planning to attend other DC-area Excellence in Science, Technology and Mathematics Education (ESTME) Week activities, March March 15-20, 2004. NASSMC will participate again in the Triangle Coalition's Second-Annual Coalition Policy Conference taking place on March 15-16.

Upon request, NASSMC will allow members to fly in early, and check in to MITAGS on March 16 or 17, to accommodate these other ESTME Week events.

Contact the Triangle Coalition to register for their Second Annual Policy Conference. Please note that registration to the NASSMC meeting does not include registration with the Triangle Coalition.
